Why (and how) to Pair Dream and Core

Why (and how) to Pair Dream and Core

We started with Dream Powder, our best selling, clinically tested hot cocoa for sleep—but we wanted to keep innovating. Over the last few years, we experimented with dozens of supplements for inflammation, mood, immune support, cardiovascular health, and focus, and uncovered the ingredients that made all the difference. We iterated and iterated, using the most well-researched and high-quality supplements, hand-selected the ones that worked (and worked together), and Core was born.

Core is our brand new morning citrus blend with 16 ingredients for immune support, stress, and complete daily health.* Core can be used on its own—consider it the “daytime version of Dream,” or a replacement for your not-so-tasty green drink or endless vitamin pile. But it can also be used in tandem with Dream to create an endless cycle of wellness that will supercharge your mornings, enhance your productivity, and improve your quality of life. Keep reading to learn why (and how) to pair Core with Dream.

The Immune System and Sleep

Sleep’s impact on the immune system is more widely-understood than the immune system’s impact on sleep. In a nutshell: when we sleep, our body produces cytokines, which are proteins that help the immune system fight off infections and inflammation. Without sufficient sleep, our immune system may not produce enough cytokines, leaving us vulnerable to illness.

Less widely-known is the immune system’s impact on sleep. Here’s where the Core-Dream connection comes in. One of Core’s main functions is to support the immune system. A strong immune system can promote better sleep. Proper sleep, in turn, can improve the immune system. By taking Dream and Core, you’re capitalizing on this cycle.

Here’s how it works:

Inflammation is the immune system’s natural response to infections and injuries. However, chronic inflammation can lead to a range of health problems, including sleep disorders like insomnia and sleep apnea. To understand the relationship between inflammation and sleep, it’s important to first understand the basics of sleep. Sleep is a complex process that involves several stages, including light sleep, deep sleep, and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. During these stages, our bodies undergo various processes that help to restore and repair our tissues and organs.

However, when we’re experiencing inflammation, our bodies may be unable to carry out these processes effectively. This is because inflammation can cause various changes in our bodies, including an increase in cortisol and a decrease in melatonin. These changes can disrupt our sleep-wake cycle, making it more difficult for us to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.

The immune system plays an additional role in sleep when we’re sick. During an infection or illness, the immune system releases various chemicals and hormones, including cytokines (proteins that help the immune system fight off infections and inflammation), interleukins, and prostaglandins, which can cause inflammation and promote sleepiness. These chemicals signal the brain to increase the production of sleep-promoting hormones, such as melatonin, and decrease the production of wake-promoting hormones, such as cortisol. Promoting sleep during illness is one brilliant way our immune system helps us recover.

The Endless Cycle

So far, we’ve established the following:

  • Core supports the immune system and inflammation response.*

  • A strong immune system supports better sleep (which, in turn, supports the immune system right back).

Here are a few more ways Core supports better sleep:

Core contains ingredients like clinically proven Ashwagandha KSM-66©, Vitamins B6 and B12, Magnesium, and Mucuna Pruriens that can support your body’s stress response.* Less stress can lead to a decrease in cortisol, which can lead to better sleep.

Core contains ingredients like Chaga and Maitake Mushroom Extracts, Vitamin K, and Elderberry, which can support cardiovascular health. The heart and the circulatory system are responsible for delivering oxygen and nutrients to the body's organs, including the brain, which is essential for proper sleep regulation.

Is all this an accident? Definitely not. We crafted our products to enhance one another’s effectiveness, leaving you with a higher quality of life.

Here’s how to pair the duo:

You can take Core any time of day: when you wake up for an extra boost sans caffeine, before a work session, when you feel run-down, and before a workout. We recommend taking Core first thing in the morning, and taking it daily for best results. You can mix 1 scoop into 10-16 ounces of cold, iced, or hot water, or in your favorite smoothie.

As always, take Dream 30-45 minutes before bedtime. Put at least 1 scoop of powder into a mug of hot water or milk and blend using your Beam frother for a cozy finish.
